Tom Holland Reveals How Many SPIDER-MAN Movies He's Signed On For As He Covers THR Along With Zendaya
We heard from Zendaya earlier, and now her Spider-Man: Homecoming costar Tom Holland shares a few new details on his role as the Webslinger in Marvel and Sony's upcoming reboot. Click on for more...
Tom Holland has opened up about reprising the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in next year's Spider-Man: Homcoming during a new interview with THR. The young British actor describes the audition process, how his incarnation of the Webhead will differ from previous ones ("every fight scene we have is designed in a way that's almost child-friendly, so he never actually punches anyone"), whether or not he consulted Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield for advice, and more.
The biggest reveal, however, is how many films he's signed on for. All Marvel actors are contracted for multiple appearances of course, but Holland provides a clear idea of how often we can expect to see him suit up as Spidey over the next few years.
"They give you options, and those could be exercised whenever. Like a cameo in Avengers. I'm unclear as to which movies, though. I do know I have three Spider-Man movies and three solo movies contracted. But if you have another movie, Marvel is so good at working around it. They're very respectful of your life, really. They understand that you have to work on other movies, and they try and fix it up so you can work around each other."
Holland also graced the cover of THR's Next Gen issue with Zendaya (though they're not in character), which you can see below:
