Hey guys and gals, WYLEEJAY here. I've been coming to this site for a couple of years now and I would like to thank you all for your contributions. It has been really helpful and I would like to finally contribute myself. That's right, my very first article! Feel free to let me have it in the comment section. I appreciate criticism.

OK on to the point of me writing this up. As long as I've been reading comments on this site I have noticed something that troubles me. All the hate for certain movies is a little confusing for me. I'm not talking MARVEL vs DC. I actually think its healthy. Good entertainment sometimes. I mean people actually saying things like how much they want to see a movie fail or to boycott a film. Why? Now I'm not saying people shouldn't exercise their freedom of speech. I'm doing that right now. My meaning is, I'm not sure if everyone really thinks it through. So I'm going to point out a couple of things that make it more interesting.

We have finally seen this genre blossom into the mainstream the way we have always hoped for. CBM's are really being taken serious now and the budgets are getting bigger. More actors are taking risks with the genre than were willing to before. It's almost like being in a COMIC BOOK MOVIE is the thing to do. The studios have finally seen that it's worth the risk. All in all, things are looking great. Problem is, you can't please everyone. I can understand not agreeing with some things in these stories or feeling that you want more, but to wish failure upon them is a step back in the wrong direction, I think. My opinion. Avengers and The Dark Knight were masterpieces. Movies like Batman and Robin, and Ghostrider Spirit of Vengeance made the genre look bad. I still watched them though, because without support we could end up just being a phase. If (for an example) Amazing SpiderMan 2 flops, it doesn't mean Marvel will get the rights back. It just means you're going to have to wait even longer to see him on the big screen again. Even if Marvel got the rights back, you would still be waiting because they already have a lot on their plates. Of course if the studios stop making these films a success and start making movies without any concern then it could hurt the entire genre. Witch in turn, would hurt this site because it's what we thrive on. Maybe we should all appreciate what we have a little more.

I have seen a lot of users say that it's good that these other companies keep making these films because if they weren't we wouldn't get as many films as we do. I agree with them. Everyone has their own opinion so I would love to hear them.

Sound off in the comments if you will!

You still watch Batman & Robin plus Ghost Rider 2 because you think without support the whole entire comic book universe will...what? What the..are you...oh my god. Why do you care about those movies so much if other people don't at all.

"Witch in turn, would hurt this site because it's what we thrive on" - Where is the Witch?

Why is everything I read in your words just seem like an overly long diffusion of words. I am trying to understand you but it's hard after I read, you really still watch those movies because you think they support the rest of the comic book films? I am just having a hard time understanding that not the rest of the editorial but that...

The point of the article is...what's the point of boycotting a film? What good can it do?

To me even bad comicbook movies are better than going to see a romcom. I would watch catwoman a hundred times before I would watch sleepless in seattle. I dont get the whole wanting the movies to fail. We start seeing failures, then we will start seeing less cbms.

Im a unashamed marvel fan, but not to the point where I want DC to fail. Im a marvel fan cause as a kid there wasnt alot of money floating around for comics, and I couldnt afford to keep up with both companies, so I made a choice back then. With the cbm era we are in now it gives me a chance to get into a world that I wouldnt have otherwise. I dont even like superman, but its my most anticipated movie, because I love the genre. And what is this new era of cbms without superman. I hope it all the success in the world along with all cbm's.

@wyleejay I completely agree with you and i have watched every CBM made apart from punisher. I will be watching iron man 3 and MOS. The problem to me are marvel fanboys who are very proactive in throwing slurs at DC and their franchises. this comes directly from the "professionals" at marvel like John Romita for example who throw mud at the competition rather than having mutual respect for the competition. I was a very neutral supporter of both companies and today i read comics from both companies, but i must admit that the attitude and insecurity of marvel fanboys quite frankly is a disease that will ultimately harm all comic book movies in future.
