Variety is reporting that Mary-Louise Parker - best known for her roles in last year's RED and the TV series Weeds - is in negotiations to join the cast of Universal's upcoming adaptation of the Dark Horse comic series R.I.P.D. (Rest In Peace Department). Parker will play the woman who explains to Nick Walker (Ryan Reynolds) what happened when he died. Apparently, Jodie Foster (who was previously rumored for a role in the movie) was interested in this role, but she eventually passed.
Mary-Louise Parker is in negotiations to round out the cast of Universal's "R.I.P.D." Parker would play the woman overseeing the division who explains to Reynolds' character what has happened when he dies. Jodie Foster had shown interest in the role but eventually passed.
Also starring in the film is Jeff Bridges as 'Bo', Kevin Bacon as the villain, and Stephanie Szostak as Nick Walker's wife.
R.I.P.D. hits theaters June 28th, 2013!
