Paramount Pictures has released the first official clip from Ang Lee's highly-anticipated Gemini Man, featuring an extended look at 2x Academy Award-nominee Will Smith (Aladdin) as he confronts himself. Well, more accurately, confronts a version of himself that's approximately two decades younger.

The über-ambitious sci-fi action thriller stars Smith as a pair of identical ultra-elite assassins - Henry Brogan & Junior - who will find themselves pitted against one another by a former friend-turned-enemy who's decided to eliminate Brogan for reasons yet-to-be-determined.

In addition to Smith, Academy Award-nominee Clive Owen (Inside Man), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Birds of Prey) and Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) will also feature in major roles.

I wasn’t a fan of Will’s delivery here but I’m going to see this one. I’ve always been a Will fan

Nice non-spoiler-y clip. Hope the movie has more of those character moments.

Ang Lee is a meticulously good director. Was watching some of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon the other day, just specific clips on youtube atta friend's place on the weekend and his parents and younger siblings came over and became quite riveted and it seems I gotta watch it with them proper. Saw a video on youtube "Top 5 Great Moments in Action" or somesuch, breaking down a certain sword fight in the film and after almost 20 years, I couldn't believe all the frikkin detailed nuances Ang Lee wove into such a complex, ornately choreographed action scene. Gave me a whole new level of appreciation. Watched it for the first time in over a decade back in 2017 and loved it far better than I did when it first came out, and was amazed How I didn't appreciate it back then. Also his HULK film to me was great. Unexpectedly cerebral and incredibly well-filmed, especially for a superhero movie. The genre could use some more real visionaries.

Anybody who says the CGI is bad doesn’t know what they’re talking about. This a 100% CG character that actually looks pretty damn good. Compared to how we’ve seen some really terrible CG from the Marvel movies when it comes to de-aging (and this isn’t de-aging). Like RDJ in Civil War and Michael Douglas in Endgame (terrible CG). You can’t point out a better 100% digital human and a black one at that. Black skin is probably way more difficult to manage and make it look realistic in this type of technology This is practically transcendent.

@carltonb95 - The de-aging in tbe Marvel films you mentioned were absolutely fantastic though. Did you just need a reason to bash Marvel?
