HULK Actress Jennifer Connelly Joins The Cast Of ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL As One Of The Movie's Villains

It's been a while since we've had an update on Alita: Battle Angel, but THR now reports that Jennifer Connelly (Hulk, Requiem for a Dream, A Beautiful Mind) has been added to the already very impressive cast of the Robert Rodriguez-directed sci-fi flick.

Though no details on her character are provided, it is stated that she'll be playing "one of the villains". Any Alita fans care to venture a guess as to which one it could be?

Production on Alita: Battle Angel is currently underway in Austin, though the project still hasn't been given an offcial release date. The film will feature Rosa Salazar in the lead role, with support from the likes of Jackie Earle Haley, Christoph Waltz, Mahershala Ali and Ed Skrein.

I hate how americans underestimate japanese culture. When these awesome things get adapted they are never the top-notch prodction they are supposed to be. Hopefully Cameron can change that. (oh but he's not directing right? no, he isn't)

What bugs me is that 50% of the U.S "classics" are based on japanese culture. Without them, we wouldn't have Star Wars or The Matrix, just to name a few.

@ODanil - I'm gonna guess that if Cameron is involved it will have a top notch budget and care. Hell even ghost in the Shell has a massive budget. So just wait the time for anime projects is now.

Gorgeous and a great actress. Really intrigued by her being a villain, I don't think i've ever seen her play that kind of part before.
