RUMOR: MR. ROBOT Creator Sam Esmail In Talks To Write Next STAR WARS Anthology Film
Has Disney and Lucasfilm found a writer to take on their next Star Wars anthology film with Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail? Click to get the details on which solo film he's rumored to be in talks for!
With Gareth Edwards' Rogue One: A Star Wars Story being a box office hit, and Phil Lord and Christopher Miller's upcoming Han Solo film half way through principal photography, it's safe to say that Disney and Lucasfilm have been exploring ways to continue the Star Wars anthology success. Well, it appears as though Lucasfilm might already be in talks with Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail to write the next anthology film.
According to Omega Underground, their sources claim that Lucasfilm has had several meetings with Esmail about potentially penning the script for the next anthology film. The report also mentions that the project Esmail and the studio are meeting about is most likely the rumored Obi-Wan Kenobi standalone film.
Esmail has devoted most of his time in writing and directing his critically-acclaimed show Mr. Robot while also working on his upcoming television miniseries adaptation of Fritz Lang's 1927 film, Metropolis, so it's possible he might not even have the time to work on a script for something as big as a Star Wars film. It's best to take this rumor with a grain of salt, but for now, let us know what you think in the comments below.
