The first deleted scene from the upcoming home release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi debuted on the latest episode of The Star Wars Show, and when you watch it you will almost certainly wish Rian Johnson had decided to leave it in the theatrical cut of the film.

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI Blu-Ray Release Date, Cover And Details Revealed - Check Out The New Trailer

Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) was barely in The Last Jedi, and though her fight sequence with Finn (John Boyega) was fairly exciting, it was over far too quickly.

Well, it turns out that entire scene originally went on for longer, and the chrome-plated Imperial Officer was given a much better - and more definitive - death.

The scene comes in around the 1:37 mark. Have a look, and let us know what you think in the comments.

It's a good character moment but it would slow down the scene too much. Also no way Phasma is dead, they described her as the Kenny of star wars so she'll hopefully be back

That is 100000X better. If you have to choose pacing over character, you've made the wrong choice; especially considering this is a short scene with nice tension.

How about a much better send off for Luke? Or Snoke for that matter. It's almost like Rian was purposely pissing people off as a big FU to Star Wars fans.
