STAR WARS: THE PHANTOM MENACE Star Liam Neeson Reveals Whether He's Been Asked To Return As Qui-Gon Jinn

Liam Neeson has lent his voice to The Clone Wars and The Rise of Skywalker since playing Qui-Gon Jinn in The Phantom Menace, but has Lucasfilm ever actually reached out about a full-blown Star Wars return?

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace may not exactly be looked back on with fond memories, but it definitely introduced some great characters to the Galaxy Far, Far Away. Darth Maul is somewhere near the top of that list, of course, but so too is Liam Neeson's Qui-Gon Jinn.

Since playing the Jedi Master in 1999, Neeson has returned to lend his voice to episodes of The Clone Wars and even last December's The Rise of Skywalker

While it's hard to say how he could return over two decades after being pretty definitively killed off, Collider recently asked Neeson whether he's heard anything from Lucasfilm (he could play a Force Ghost in Obi-Wan Kenobi, for example), and it doesn't sound like he's been keeping up with the franchise!

"I’ve done the voice for Qui-Gon Jinn in a couple of the animated versions of it. I can’t remember the names of them," the actor started. "Myself and Sam Jackson did our Jedi knights for those. I think I did two of them. But on film, I haven’t been approached, no. I haven’t really been following them, to be honest. I don’t know if they’ve come to an end."

"I heard they did a film of Harrison [Ford]’s character, Han Solo, and that there was a bit of trouble with that. What do you think? Are Star Wars fans finished with it?"

Star Wars is far from finished, and our best hope of seeing Neeson as Qui-Gon again is in an animated adventure of some sort or Obi-Wan Kenobi. For now, we're obviously going to have to wait and see.

I wouldn't mind seeing a film about the early days of Qui Gon Jinn...that would be cool. Hope Neason returns as Qui Gon's ghost in the Obi-Wan miniseries.

@InfinitePunches - or like Harrison Ford, you can choose to not give two shits about it

A flashback cameo in Kenobi series would be so dope.

Qui Gon is my favorite Jedi. He was awesome and Liam Neeson killed it as him.

Really hopes he returns in the Kenobi series. There has to be some follow-up to Yoda's line from ROTS about an old friend. That, and I want some more of that Qui-Gon wisdom

A 10 Part Prequel Mini-Series of Qui-Gon Live Action would do the trick.

But where in his timeline?

Maybe the year he and obiwan spent in Mandalore protecting the duchess?
or
Go younger and see Qui-Gon teamed up with A young Count Dooku?

Well it would honestly be stupid if he DIDN'T return. Having him visiting with Obe would make sense given Yoda's comments at the end of ROTS. It would close that loop.

Cameo as a Force ghost in the Obi-Wan series would be neat, after only it was something that was literally teased by Yoda to Obi-Wan near the end of Episode III: he was going to reach him the ability to communicate with his former master.
