They may have struggled in the story department, but the Star Wars prequels rarely disappointed on a visual scale. Love 'em or loath 'em, this video may make you see them in a fascinating new light. Talented editor Pablo Fernandez Eyre has put together a beautiful comparison between George Lucas' much-maligned second trilogy and the original movies that preceeded them.

Eyre's 'Star Wars Poetry' focuses on the astonishing visual symmetry between the two sets of films, highlighting a number of different ways Lucas' took drew inspiration from his old masterpieces through side-by-side comparison. The 2-minute long edit is set to the sound of Ludivicio Einaudi's beautiful 'Experience' - making the actual viewing experience all the more chilling.

What are your thoughts? Does this video give you a newfound appreciation for George Lucas's later work, or is the mere memory of young Anakin too painful for you to ever get over? At the very least, it should get you excited for The Force Awakens, which hits theatres December 18!
