Greg and Colin Strause (the Brothers Strause) will make their directorial debut on Alien vs. Predator 2 for 20th Century Fox, according to IGN Filmforce.

The brothers have done special effects for X-Men: The Last Stand, Fantastic Four and The Day After Tomorrow.

The script will be provided by Shane Salerno and filming should begin this September, according to Variety.

"We really want to take it back to the original 'Alien' and 'Predator' films and make a serious, gritty horror film," Colin Strause said.

"We want to take it back to its roots, without losing sight of the human struggle," added Greg Strause. "That's what made the originals so good."

Look for the sequel Aug. 10, 2007.
