JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION Star Sam Neill Assures Fans Original Actors Have More Than Just Cameo Roles

It's no secret that Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and Laura Dern will all return for Jurassic World: Dominion, and Neill has assured fans that they'll have more than just cameo roles...

In an interview with Yahoo Movies UK, Sam Neill has confirmed that he and Jurassic Park co-stars Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern will have a significant role in Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World: Dominion. While the spotlight was put on Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in the past two movies, fans have been eagerly anticipating the original cast's return to the franchise for a while now.

"We’re all the way through the film, Jeff, and me, and Laura," the actor confirmed, joking that he "probably won’t be running quite as fast as I was 27 years ago!"

Neill went on to point out that the trio is "raring to go," and that "we’re all going to be living in the same joint for three or four months, so that’s going to be fun. And everybody loves Chris and Bryce as well, so I think we’ll be a very happy bunch."

While Goldblum was given a very minor cameo in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the other members of the original Jurassic Park cast haven't been seen since the third, mostly poorly received, film was released.

Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, Daniella Pineda, and Justice Smith are all returning for Trevorrow's movie, while B.D. Wong will also be back. Lewis Dodgson (who was only in a single scene of Jurassic Park) is also being recast for this film, and that's definitely noteworthy, especially as the character was the lead villain in the original Jurassic Park novels.

Jurassic World: Dominion is set to be released on June 11th, 2021.

Jurassic World was dumb but fun, despite the characters being a bit... shit haha. And it takes a lot to make Chris Pratt as a dinosaur trainer boring. But there were some cool parts. Fallen Kingdom was so bad though! What a completely lifeless and uninspired movie, just treasing water. Has no reason to exist and brings absolutely nothing to the table except watching some dinosaurs run from a volcano.

Hope the third is good. It will all rest, for me, on whether they come up with a believable explanation for how the dinos have run rampant. Because the little stampede that escaped in Kingdom would have been easily recaptured and/or exterminated. In fact even if the dinosaurs were EVERYWHERE I don’t think modern man would have any problem wiping them out in short order with today’s technology. Trex, meet chopper with a chain gun.

@connorblaze - i thought the second act of Fallen Kingdom was the first sequel in the franchise to capture the intensity of the the first Jurassic Park movie. parts of that movie were legit frightening to me.

Jurassic World was fun...Nothing really out of this world amazing but an enjoyable popcorn flick...If anything it set up the future of the franchise nicely...

Then there was Fallen Kingdom...What a horrible slog of a movie...Totally uninteresting to the the point that I think I blocked a large portion of it out...I vaguely remember a volcano blowing up Isla Nublar, and a handful of dinosaurs being released on the American mainland...Other than that, what the hell happened again?

@vegetaray - it also was pretty intense in the second act. basically you have act 1 which was just fan service for dinosaur lovers. then act 2 was super intense with a new murder dinosaur doing what murder dinosaurs do. then act 3 was dumb. the little short film they made that takes place after was better than Fallen Kingdom

I love bringing back original film's actors but the problem is this movie still has Treverrow, who has zero ability to bring anything original to the table.
So my expectations are super low 😕

I [frick]ing love Sam Neill. If you've never seen John Carpenter's In The Mouth of Madness, seek it out. It's super good, and Sam gives a killer performance. I was always more of a Grant man than a Malcolm man, so this is great news

I might actually watch this one now, but I still don't plan on watching the previous two.

I don't know what they were trying to do with Fallen Kingdom, but the tonal shifts in that movie were jarring.
