Kong Skull Island: Producer Alex Garcia says "Kong is his own species."

Small tidbit of news from the producers in regards to what king of ape Kong is, plus some speculation on his size and behavior. Plus King Kong Behavior and Size Comparison to Godzilla

I've been trying to wrap my mind around the King Kong v Godzilla match up that is going to be upon us in the future in regards to how these two monsters will stack up against each other.  I have also been looking for clues as to what kind of Kong we will get.   According to producer Alex Garcia, Kong will stand at a mighty 100ft tall and is very much considered to be “his own species.

This can be evidenced in some of the trailer shots.

Below we get a glimpse of Kong’s hand rummaging through the palm trees, and he is much smaller than Godzilla….that is IF these are regular palm trees.  And another shot of him standing upright.

Everything on the island seems bigger than normal.  See the below Triceratops size reference compared to the movies portrayal.

Between that and eyeballing the trailer, I have represented below the size up of our two monsters.  This is of course approximate and not to exact scale.

I am concerned because if they keep Kong the same size, he will have no chance to beat Godzilla.  I am hoping that they introduce some kind of growing agent to Kong between the 1970's era (when the movie is set) and when he finally meets Godzilla.  This could be the 'serum' they are after that is on the island in the Kong movie, or perhaps some sort of radiation contamination.  Either of which somehow makes Kong grow more.

Or they just shrink Godzilla and not even explain it.

Otherwise, Godzilla will mop the floor with him.

Lastly, it looks like Kong will be BROWN!  You can see this in the hair color when his hand swats a helicopter out of the air, and slightly when he is rummaging through the palms trees in the previous picture.  This goes along with producer Alex Garcia, stating that Kong is very much considered to be “his own species.”

In March 2017, the producers of Godzilla transport audiences to the birthplace of one of the most powerful monster myths of all in KONG: SKULL ISLAND, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures.

When a scientific expedition to an uncharted island awakens titanic forces of nature, a mission of discovery becomes an explosive war between monster and man. Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Brie Larson, John Goodman and John C. Reilly star in a thrilling and original new adventure that reveals the untold story of how Kong became King.

So when they say "His own species" Means that there will be another Kong that is much bigger to the size of Godzilla.

My understanding is that Kong is still young in SKULL ISLAND, and that in the 45 years between that film and KING KONG VS. GODZILLA that Kong grows to Godzilla's size.
