MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS Reboot To Commence Filming This Winter
We might not know who exactly will be playing the next generation of Power Rangers just yet, but we do now know when they'll be expected to suit up. Come check it out!
With an early 2017 release date, it was only a matter of time before production kicked off on Lionsgate's upcoming Mighty Morphin Power Rangers reboot and now, thanks to YVRShoots, we know exactly when the film should officially commence.
The site is reporting that the Dean Israelite-directed film, which has a script from X-Men: First Class & Thor scribes Ashley Miller and Zack Stenz, is expected to begin filming in Vancouver on January 18th and then wrap sometime around April 12th. The co-production between Lionsgate and Saban Entertainment will shoot under the working title "SHIRT."
The cast has yet-to-be finalized, but based on this latest report, it's probably a safe bet to assume that we'll start hearing about which five young actors will portray the iconic Rangers much sooner than later. The original '90s phenomenon starred Austin St. John, Thuy Trang, David Yost, Amy Jo Johnson, & Walter Jones as the five original Power Rangers: Jason, Trini, Billy, Kimberly, & Zack. Last month, it was reported that the new movie will feature updated 21st century takes on these same five characters.
