REVIEW: Universal Soldier: Regeneration

I believe a review should be short and not give too much away therefore I give you this condensed version of my initial draft.

Hey ya'll longtime reader and big fan of the site; I finally made an account just to give my first and probably last review which is Strong>Universal Soldier: Regeneration.

Let me start by saying that everything about this movie is super great (well at least to me anyway). From the wonderful power plant type location to the blade runner inspired score. Jean Claude Van Damme (Luc Deveraux) and Dolph Lindgren (Andrew Scott) both do some of there best acting performances ever in this movie, you really feel sorry for them and their current predicament. And yes these guys are hella old but they're really believable in their own roles. Also that other guy gives an astonishingly menacing performance as well; I forget his name, something the pit bull something.

Lastly you can't review an action film without talking about the action, the film itself is low budget but that doesn’t stop it from being kick ass (that word is really played out), anyways there’s a action sequence were Luc Deveraux runs through a horde of bad people, all trying to shoot and blow him up, of course they fail but the scene was well done, you can tell that the director, cinematographer, etc much like the whole movie put tremendous effort into it. That’s another thing that’s great about this film, the bad people aren’t really bad, at some points Van Damme’s character seemed like the bad guy instead of the hero and that just adds another layer to the movie which is a definite plus.

The movie does end with the possibility of a next installment but I hope they don’t make another because van damme’s character (somewhat spoiler), though his future is uncertain it does have a sense of closure.

Hoped ya'll enjoyed the review and at the very least I hope it encourages those of you who haven’t seen it to rent it at a red box or borrow it from a friend or something.

Snizz - Is this a sequel to the original 'Universal Soldier'? If so, I have a one questions - how can Dolf Ludgren's character Andrew Scott be in this film? Sgt. Scott was turned into bloody chunks at the end of the first film via a well-placed kick from Van Damme's character Devereaux (...and a combine). Is this a 'clone' thing?

Are they ignoring the other POS sequels, or is this a continuation of the squence of events?

I ordered it from Sony Pictures (amazon.com) and my friends who saw the movie say it's great and the action is like they said a kick@$$!
Guys, what do you say if you join this group as a petition for asking toy companies to create Universal Soldier action figures? Please check it out: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=272608435131 Thank you.

Now don't tease, SNIZZ! A studio recognizing they did something horribly wrong and ACTUALLY correcting the problem?! OMFG, there's hope for Sony yet (Fox are you bloody-well paying attention here? LMFAO!)!
