No, this isn’t a Wendy’s 4 for 4 ad. Though, now I my mouth is watering. Also, this does contain Beyond spoilers.

What we know:
The plot “unites” George Kirk and Jim Kirk, which means two things.
-      That Chris Hemsworth with actually be teaming up in the “present day” of the film with Chris Pine’s Kirk.
-      That the movie won’t be filmed until late 2017 or early 2018 AFTER Hemsworth’s “final” appearance as Thor is wrapped.

Post "Beyond" Speculation:
-     The Enterprise-A was launched in the epilogue of the movie, apparently built in the span of 20 seconds. Which is impressive.
Therefore, the new ship will of course be THE main location of the fourth film.
-     The film will HAVE to be set after the Five Year Mission is completed due to Anton Yelchin’s passing. The mission was going to take
the Enterprise past Altima and the Nebula and out into the unknown. Presumably, Chekov was still the navigator of the A and was going to be there for the launch and continuation of the mission.

Okay, so now that that is established, THEORY TIME.

ONE: … Klingon Clone?
-  This is a rather outlandish theory that I thought of when considering what they could do in the fourth film. Some have been throwing
a fit over wanting the Klingons or the TOS Klingon War on the big screen.
-  So we know in the 2009 Star Trek film, the Narada was disabled by the Kelvin making a suicide run right down Nero’s throat. We
also know that Nero spent 25 years IN A KLINGON PRISON CAMP waiting for Ambassador Spock to get spat out by the Red Matter
   Black Hole.
-  The Klingons of course confiscated the Narada after the Kelvin’s shuttles were picked up by Starfleet… so what if, via the wreckage of
the Kelvin itself, they gathered George Kirk’s DNA and grew a Hemsworth clone to fight the Federation? Well, who wouldn’t clone
   him, amiright?!
-  Now, again this is the most unrealistic theory I thought of… since this is almost an exact copy of the plot of Star Trek Nemesis, which is
critically considered one of the franchise’s weakest films.
-  Or it could be an Undiscovered Country/Nemesis… mash… up… shit, they already did a Wrath of Khan tribute. THEY BETTER NOT DO
   THIS.

TWO: Timeline… reset… Days of Future Past-ish?
-  What if after the five year mission is done and the Enterprise-A returns home, things are falling apart for the Federation or some big
enemy… (Romulans, Klingons… the weird Lava Dog Monster things?) OR the rips in time that Nero created years ago are breaking
down time and space… and so the Enterprise has to launch a secret mission to STOP TIME FROM ENDING?!
- That does sound like an episode of the original series…
- They would have to track things back to where it all began, by either intercepting Nero when it shredded the Kelvin OR traversing the
multiverse until they arrive in the Prime Universe and have to stop Nero from ever arriving. Perhaps if the universe is breaking down,
random events are undoing themselves, causing Kirk’s father to become alive again?
-  This maybe my weakest theory, or least thought out.

THREE: City on the Edge of Forever.
-  Now in Star Trek The Original Series, a structure was discovered on a planet that acted kind of like a Stargate, but allowed people to
both SEE and travel to and interact with other time periods and places. This ancient device was called the Guardian of Forever.
-  Now I don’t have much speculation of this plot OTHER than to suspect that they could attempt a Star Trek/Back to the Future
adventure where Kirk, Spock and McCoy are thrown back to before George Kirk was killed and have to somehow fix something or
make sure that everything goes as it did to create the Kelvin Timeline.
-  This is definitely one of my weaker theories, but City on the Edge of Forever is also one of the TOS’ most acclaimed episodes… EVER.
   So, you never know.

FOUR: Mirror Universe George Kirk.
-  This is the most popular theory that I have seen being thrown around, that George Kirk would somehow come through from the
other side on a Terran Empire warship and wreck everything in the Kelvin Universe.
-  In Star Trek Enterprise (heavily referenced in Star Trek Beyond, funnily enough) we last saw the early years of the Terran Empire
experiencing massive turmoil. They were at war with… well, EVERYONE. Hoshi had killed practically everyone except for Ensign Travis
Mayweather and had taken command of the future USS Defiant… crowning herself Empress of the Empire.
-  So perhaps the Empire discovered Red Matter in their conquering and George Kirk either accidentally or purposely uses it in an
attempt to find new space for the Empire to conquer or thrive on.

Do you have theories of your own? Throw them down below and let's discuss where no one has discusssed before!

You missed a couple of possible theories. One is that somehow the George Kirk from the Prime Universe is transported into the Kelvin Universe. The other is just a simple time travel story (similar to Voyage Home) in which the Enterprise-A goes back in time to when George Kirk was alive, at some point before his ship was destroyed. They would need to come up with a reason why for both of these, but they are both possibilities.

I personally would kind of like to see a movie use the Guardian of Tomorrow as a plot device, although the one bad thing would be that you can't actually take the ship through it, and I would like to the Enterprise play a bigger role in the story. A movie about the Mirror Universe wouldn't be bad either. I wish TNG would have done at least 1-2 episodes with an evil Picard and Riker, or maybe the Mirror Universe would have been controlled by Data or Lore. (Deep Space Nine did a Mirror story, but I always liked TNG better.)
