Hey Everyone and Welcome to What Did I Miss, where today I will be trying out a new style of video that should be a lot of fun.  Here, I am going to look at a rumor that has been recently released and examine it to decide if it is Data or Lore.  This of course is a reference to the characters played by Brent Spiner as Data was a loveable android who just wanted to be human while Lore was a more human version of an Android that wanted to be even more.  Data was the more trusting of the bunch, but the two looked and could act almost identical and if you think about that is how these rumors work as they sometimes seem so familiar that you don’t bother to pick up the little inconsistences that make it untrue.  I also thought it would be cool for you to see my process as a fan when I see things like this so it would give you a better feel for how I react when I read things like this.  One of my mottos as a creator has always been to “Trust Data, not Lore” and if you believe that too, you can show it off and support this channel by picking up a “Trust Data, Not Lore” t-shirt in our merch store.  But for the first edition of this new concept I am going to be reviewing the rumor surrounding a new Star Trek movie being put into production, as there have been a few recently for a couple of different sources.  First, I will share with you the stories and the sources and then look into those sources to see how reliable they are.  Then I will look at the probably of the stories, given what we do know, and come to a determination if the stories are true or not or more specifically if they are Data or Lore.  This is always more fun when I hear from you, so let me know if the comments what you think about it and if you agree with my conclusions.  OK, so let’s look at the possibilities for a new Star Trek movie and determine if this rumor is Data, or Lore.

Why are they wearing Fox-men costumes?

Too much Star Trek right now. And like you said the last movie didn’t make them enough money to continue that route.

@CAPTAINPINKEYE - I have to agree with you. The franchise wasn't meant to be oversaturated like Star Wars. Stretched too thin, Trek loses all of its great ideals and concepts.

@Dredd97 - That said, I'd say the same for Star Wars. A little more time between trilogy movies (quality anyone?) and less explosion of content could be a good thing, especially when it comes to the movies.

@RolandD - oh no, I'm in full agreement. Star Wars used to be an event. Every few years we'd get a trilogy. Was it good or bad? Who cares, it was special. Now it's just as bad as Trek.

@Dredd97 - Yup. I need to watch The Mandalorian though. I've heard nothing but good things about it.

@RolandD - it's literally the best Star Wars since 1983. Everything a sequel to Return of the Jedi should've been

@Dredd97 - That's what I keep hearing. Thanks!

I will admit, I want this. Although it did not do as well financially, they seemed to be on the right track with Beyond.
