Hasbro Finally Brings Back Starkiller With New STAR WARS: THE FORCE UNLEASHED Black Series Action Figure

A new Black Series action figure has been revealed based on the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video game, and it puts the spotlight on Galen Marek, a.k.a. Starkiller, Darth Vader's secret apprentice.

The beloved Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video game told the story of Galen Marek, Darth Vader's secret apprentice. An incredibly powerful Force-wielder, he'd eventually realise the error of his ways and joined the Rebellion (playing a pivotal role in its creation).

This all played out long before Disney acquired Lucasfilm, and when the Expanded Universe was deemed non-canon, The Force Unleashed became one of many great stories fans have hoped will be revisited in some way.

As we first reported on SFFGazette.com, Starkiller has returned...in the form of a Black Series action figure from Hasbro, anyway. Retailing for a surprisingly pricey $110.99, it includes Starkiller and two Stormtroopers along with a total of 16 accessories.

The gorgeous box art recreates the artwork which once adored the video game's cover and we're sure many of you will hope this is an indication that Disney and Lucasfilm might be planning to revisit the character.

It's a nice thought, and there are no doubt plenty of ways to put a fresh spin on Galen, but we currently have nothing to suggest any sort of return is imminent. Sam Witwer played the character in the 2008 video game and its sequel and has shared his interest in reprising the role on multiple occasions.

"Star Wars fans and collectors can imagine scenes from the Star Wars galaxy with this premium 6-inch Star Wars: The Black Series Starkiller & Troopers 3-pack," reads the official product description, "inspired by the characters in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video game."

"During his quest to hunt and destroy Jedi, Starkiller allies himself with some unlikely heroes – and makes decisions that will alter his destiny and shape the future of the galaxy.  Fans and collectors can display these fully articulated figures featuring premium detail and multiple points of articulation in their collection. Includes 3 figures and 16 entertainment-inspired accessories including Force effects and 2 blaster accessories."

Talk about a face made to be a villain. Doomsday in Smallville, Agent Liberty in Supergirl...

When’s the last time they actually made action figures for kids to play with? Now you just have “collectors” that buy action figures hoping that one day they’ll be worth something that they’ll never sell.
My G.I. Joes were out of their packaging before I left the Toys R’ Us parking lot.
