Kate Mara To Make The Leap From THE FANTASTIC FOUR To STAR WARS?

Kate Mara To Make The Leap From THE FANTASTIC FOUR To STAR WARS?

We heard yesterday about a number of actresses being eyed for the lead female role in Gareth Edwards' Star Wars spinoff, and it now appears as if Kate Mara (House of Cards) is also testing for the role, possibly reuniting her with The Fantastic Four writer Simon Kinberg...

It was reported yesterday that Felicity Jones, Tatiana Maslany, and Rooney Mara were all set to test for the lead female role in Gareth Edwards' 2016 Star Wars spinoff. However, it now appears as if we can add another name to that list. Rooney Mara's sister and House of Cards star Kate Mara!

That would make a lot of sense, especially as she will have more than likely struck up a working relationship with Star Wars Rebels writer and producer Simon Kinberg (he's working on Josh Trank's 2018 spinoff and possibly this one too following Gary Whitta's departure) on the set of The Fantastic Four. Mara will play Susan Storm/The Invisible Woman in that controversial movie.

There are still no plot details, but it's believed that it will focus on a group of bounty hunters hired by the Rebels to steal the plans of the first Death Star. That's still just a rumour at this point.

Kate's a very good actress.
I wouldn't mind.

@sKeemAn

Tatiana Maslany deserves much more attention than she's getting.
She's fabulous.

@joemomma29

Of course. We are talking about the possibility that she would be in 2 major franchises. (if we can say F4 is a major franchise)

Uh... Just because she might be in a Star Wars spin-off doesn't mean she's jumping ship on FF or FOX. Calm down, people.

Plus has anyone considered that she'd possibly be comfortable with acting under another script treatment written by Kinberg?

@Sipprelle

Good. Rick Flagg would be a waste to cast someone like Gyllenhaal. I'm sure it's a weaker role

No thank you but it'd be cool if her sister were cast. She is much more talented

Not necessarily, FF2 comes out in 2017 this Star Wars film comes out in 2016 that would leave her a year to film the sequel in 2016 while she does the Star Wars sequel in 2015 (if she even gets the role)

I mean, I wouldn't complain if Gyllenhaal got casted lol, but the role of rick Flagg isn't hard to cast IMO. Ayer is looking for A-Listers though so that's good.
