ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY Concept Art Reveals New Look At Mustafar And Darth Vader's Bacta Tank

Some newly revealed Rogue One: A Star Wars Story concept art shows more of Darth Vader's castle on Mustafar, as well as the bacta tank Anakin Skywalker took refuge in when he wasn't trapped in that suit.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story brought Darth Vader back to the big screen, and gave us a glimpse of his home on Mustafar. While we didn't get to spend a huge amount of time exploring the Sith Lord's castle, we did briefly see Anakin Skywalker inside a bacta tank - likely his only refuge from the pain inflicted upon him while wearing the armour Emperor Palpatine created.

Now, thanks to concept artist Christian Alzmann, we have a closer look at the bacta tank and, in this earlier design, we get to see a much grander take on Darth Vader's only refuge. There's also an exterior shot of the castle, and we can only hope a future movie takes us back here.

After all, it was a major missed opportunity that the Star Wars sequels never followed Kylo Ren back to his grandfather's home on Mustafar, and it's hard to imagine why this was introduced if not to at least set the stage for a future story. It's hard to say whether Lucasfilm plans that far ahead, though, especially if the past few years of storytelling are anything to go by.

Check out this Rogue One: A Star Wars Story concept art below:

The only Star Wars movie of the Kennedy era that a majority of people can agree is good.

Put Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni in charge

What he said. Move forward and don't rehash anymore of the Skywalker saga. Filoni understands what makes Star WArs special and Favreau is one of the best directors in the CBM/SciFi space. Banish the hacks and put them behind the wheel.

This has become my personal favorite of the Disney Era.

For its 10th Anniversary...Special Edition...in true Lucasfilm Tradition...I would like:

1.) The original cut restored as Director Cut
2.) CGI Tarkin enhanced with better effect/deep fake stuff

The prequels should have been as follows:

1. Movie about young/teenage Anakin to intoduce him
2. Movie about Anakin turning to the darkside and becoming Darth Vader
3. An entire movie of the Vader scenes from Rogue One. Basically, him dealing with being in the suit, kicking the crap out of Jedis and Rebels, etc. The glimpse of him in the bacta tank was amazing. More of that was needed. The scene of him ripping through rebels to get the Death Star plans was amazing. Much, much more of that was needed. All too easy.

Instead, we got horrible acting and a drawn out plot over three movies with no kick ass Vader moments. Such wasted potential.
