STAR WARS: It Sounds Like There Are Already Plans For More Darth Vader After OBI-WAN KENOBI

Darth Vader's return in Obi-Wan Kenobi has been a hit with Star Wars fans, but a new report suggests Lucasfilm already has more plans for the Sith Lord. Will we see him in Ahsoka or elsewhere, though?

Making Star Wars (via SFFGazette.com) claims that the team responsible for bringing Darth Vader to life on screen is being reassembled for another project. Apparently, James Earl Jones has already been tapped to voice the Sith Lord again in a future project, while the crew who help Hayden Christensen portray the villain are also busy prepping for another TV show or movie.

The site doesn't know what this will be, but common sense points to Ahsoka seeing as it's in the midst of shooting. Christensen is going to reprise the role of Anakin Skywalker in that series, so perhaps we'll see a live-action take on Tano's duel with her former Master from Star Wars Rebels?

The response to seeing Darth Vader in action in Obi-Wan Kenobi has been hugely positive, especially after this week's stellar episode. The benefit of modern technology and choreography means he can be portrayed in ways fans have dreamed of seeing, with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story a good example of the sort of chaos that could be unleashed in future.

Taika Waititi's Star Wars movie is a possibility, though that doesn't seem like a good fit based on what little we know. Other Disney+ TV shows, meanwhile, are set in the wrong time periods, such as The High Republic era or following Vader's death in Return of the Jedi.

We'll have to wait and see, but more of this iconic screen villain is never a bad thing...

@Kumkani - They tried, fans hated it.

@TheHumanSpider2 - I hope you are not referring to The Last Jedi when talking about something new.

@TheHumanSpider2 - But was that really "New?" It was rehashed crap that continued then "ruined" something that was already established. I want something from the Old Republic, or even the High Republic. Something familiar but with a whole different non- Skywalker vs Palpatine generation.

@Urubrodi - What else?

@nonserviam - You mean something like the main character being a nobody, and the villain not caring about Darth Vader? sounds familiar...

@TheHumanSpider2 - "You mean something like the main character being a nobody, and the villain not caring about Darth Vader? "

Thats it? Thats the low bar.

What about I dont know. A whole new sith villain? Leadign a whole new faction? With whole new jedi. Not just slight exceptions like Rey having drug pornstar parents.

@Urubrodi - I mean, TLJ did try to break new ground. That was the whole point. You can say you didn't like the direction it took, but it tried to be original and haters made it very clear that they despised that and would have rather seen their long list of specific expectations and theories realized. Which ironically they later got in TROS and then they complained about that too.
So I don't find it all that surprising that LucasFilm no longer caters to the unsatisfiable and just tells the stories they want to tell. Sometimes new stuff, like Mando or High Republic. Sometimes nostalgic stuff like Obi-Wan, a long overdue love-letter to the prequels.

@Randomusername - "With whole new jedi"
You mean like Rey?

If fans lost their minds for TLJ, imagine how they would've reacted with something even more radical.

@Drace24 - I want something new, but at this point, Disney should do whatever the [frick] they want, Star Wars fans are IMPOSIBLE to please, and George made the right call just selling the rights away...you deal with them now, Mickey!

@nonserviam - The Last Jedi reframed the sequel trilogy and Star Wars as a whole from a rather simplistic good vs evil story to a nuanced tale of balance vs extremism and it was a deeply necessary step to avoid Star Wars turning into a nostalgia museum. Again, it's fine if you don't like those creative decisions or the way they've been done. But to say that it just didn't happen is just willfull denial.
I wouldn't be surprised if we see the same outpour of love for the sequels one day that we are now seeing for the prequels.

@TheHumanSpider2 - Rey wasn't a new jedi. She was a just poor luke ripoff.

Something that was brought up a lot.

Tlj wasn't anything new. It was boring.
