STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI Footage Description Reveals Luke Skywalker's Surprising First Words In The Movie
We have a description of footage from Rian Johnson's Star Wars: The Last Jedi that screened at a presentation for Disney shareholders, and, among other things, it reveals Luke's first words to Rey...
The very first footage from Star Wars: The Last Jedi was screened for Disney shareholders and reporters during a special presentation today, and The LA Times' Daniel Miller posted some brief descriptions to his Twitter account.
Probably the most intriguing tidbit is the reveal of Luke's first words to Rey immediately following that final scene from The Force Awakens. Apparently, the iconic Jedi snatches his old lightsaber from the young heroine's hand, before telling her to "get the f*ck off his island."
Sorry, couldn't resist!
He actually asks, "who are you?", which would certainly seem to debunk any speculation that Luke was aware of Rey's identity when she arrived on Ahch-To, or that he was the one to leave her on Jakku in the first place. It also blows the popular theory that he trained the budding force-wielder out of the water. The footage also featured shots of Finn, Chewie, Leia, and "an X-Wing wobbling in mid-air, under attack inside a giant ship."
It's not clear if any of this will be in the first teaser trailer that's expected to screen at Star Wars Celebration, but it's a a safe enough bet.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15, 2017.
