Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is fast approaching and more possible details continue finding their way online about what we should expect. Now, a new report may offer an explanation about how the recently revealed Sith Troopers are tied to the returning Emperor Palpatine.
Apparently, these new Stormtroopers are
"hidden away inside a massive fleet" in the Unknown Regions, somewhere we know Palpatine has a strong interest in based on some recent tie-in novels.
It's also said that this fleet is made up of Star Destroyers with
"planet destroying weapons" similar to the Death Star. Kylo Ren has a device called the Wayfinder which he's planning to use that to find those ships and
"unlock Palpatine's legacy." How this ties into his apparent resurrection is hard to say and there's no mention of the remains of the Death Star we saw in the trailer.
This rumour definitely indicates that there may have been some sort of divide between Palpatine and Supreme Leader Snoke's plans and they may not have been working in cahoots.
