Arnold Schwarzenegger Confirms That Tim Miller's TERMINATOR 6 Will Begin Filming This Summer
While it was expected to begin production in the first quarter of this year, star Arnold Schwarzenegger has now revealed that Tim Miller's upcoming Terminator 6 will actually begin filming this summer!
Twenty-seven years after Terminator 2: Judgment Day, we're closer than ever to a true sequel and now, it sounds like we know when Tim Miller and James Cameron plan on starting to roll cameras.
Speaking with The Arnold Fans, longtime franchise star Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed, "We are starting to shoot Terminator 6 in June to the middle of October, so I am in that. I am looking forward to coming back as the T-800 model. It's gonna be great with Tim Miller as the director and Jim Cameron is kind of supervising the whole thing.”
The sixth entry in the franchise was initially expected to begin filming in the first quarter of this year, but it looks like it was pushed back ever so slightly to get casting nailed down. For the time being, only Schwarzenegger has been confirmed to return alongside Linda Hamilton, who will reprise her iconic role as badass extraordinaire Sarah Connor.
The new film will be the beginning of a new trilogy with Tim Miller (Deadpool) in the director's chair and James Cameron (Avatar) back onboard as a producer and creative supervisor. It will be a direct sequel to Judgment Day and will ignore the events of the past three films, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator Salvation, and Terminator: Genisys.
The untitled Terminator 6 is set to hit theaters on July 26, 2019.
