Twenty-seven years after Terminator 2: Judgment Day, we're closer than ever to a true sequel and now, it sounds like we know when Tim Miller and James Cameron plan on starting to roll cameras.

Speaking with The Arnold Fans, longtime franchise star Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed, "We are starting to shoot Terminator 6 in June to the middle of October, so I am in that. I am looking forward to coming back
as the T-800 model. It's gonna be great with Tim Miller as the director and Jim Cameron is kind of supervising the whole thing.

The sixth entry in the franchise was initially expected to begin filming in the first quarter of this year, but it looks like it was pushed back ever so slightly to get casting nailed down. For the time being, only Schwarzenegger has been confirmed to return alongside Linda Hamilton, who will reprise her iconic role as badass extraordinaire Sarah Connor.

The new film will be the beginning of a new trilogy with Tim Miller (Deadpool) in the director's chair and James Cameron (Avatar) back onboard as a producer and creative supervisor. It will be a direct sequel to Judgment Day and will ignore the events of the past three films, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator Salvation, and Terminator: Genisys.

The untitled Terminator 6 is set to hit theaters on July 26, 2019.

I just can't get excited for these movies anymore. The last good Terminator movie came out 27 years ago.

@santoanderson - My thoughts on the Terminator franchise are the same as my thoughts on the Star Wars franchise, I really enjoyed the first 2...

@santoanderson - T3 was ok. It obviously wasn't as good as the first two but if the franchise had ended there it would have been an acceptable ending.
Instead they keep dragging it through the mud.

Was Cameron involved in any way with the other sequels?

Just this weekend I was watching Alien The Directors Cut and then this morning I was watching Alien Covenant.....and I have to say they need to let some of the movies franchises rest for while. Alien and Aliens are just amazing films, same can be said for T1, T2, and Predator 1,2!

Terminator
Predator
Alien

I am sure you guys may have others on your list, but to me the original movies are good enough.
