Terminator Salvation: Good, Worth the Price of Admission or a Major Letdown?

Terminator Salvation: Good, Worth the Price of Admission or a Major Letdown?

I think it can be argued that there are good parts, parts worth the $12.50 price of admission (price of a ticket in Manhattan), & there are also any aspects of Terminator Salvation which are a letdown.

The summer movie season has got off to a lackluster start first Wolverine & now Terminator Salvation. Billed as the beginning of the end & a new trilogy. Even though I felt the movie was good overall (but nothing great within it at all) I am not pumped or even that interested about a sequel (if MGM or the WB even gives it one).

I loved Christian Bale from American Psycho, The Machinist, The Prestige, & especially as Batman but I wasn't crazy with him as John Connor. If there's one real bright spot about the film it's Sam Worthington's coming out party. Worthington felt like the star of the film, even young Anton Yelchin was pretty good as Kyle Reese. The action & visual effects are not first rate.

Is it worth $12.50 & 130 minutes of your time? For Terminator fans, YES. Would I see it again? Most likely not.

Grade: 6/10
