With The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes right around the corner, an intriguing new promo has been released introducing many of the prequel's lead characters.

Unsurprisingly, Coriolanus Snow (Tom Blyth) is the main focus of this latest teaser, though we also get better acquainted with Dean Casca Highbottom (Peter Dinklage), Dr. Volumnia Gaul (Viola Davis), and Sejanus Plinth (Josh Andrés Rivera).

This orientation video has suitably sinister undertones, and Rachel Zegler's District 12 tribute Lucy Gray Baird will have to match wits with these members of the Capitol's prestigious Academy. In this movie, the Hunger Games have yet to become an entertainment spectacle and, if Suzanne Collins' book is anything to go by, we'll learn how that came to be.

Those of you curious about the origins of the Hungr Games will definitely want to check this movie out, particularly as we'll learn how mentors, tribute interviews, and a flashy host were all thrown into the mix. While an origin story for Snow might seem like a strange story to tell, you can expect more than a few twists and turns along the way.

It also sounds like tickets will soon be going on sale for the movie, so keep checking SFFGazette.com for updates.

Experience the story of The Hunger Games - 64 years before Katniss Everdeen volunteered as tribute, and decades before Coriolanus Snow became the tyrannical President of Panem.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes follows a young Coriolanus who is the last hope for his failing lineage, the once-proud Snow family that has fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. With his livelihood threatened, Snow is reluctantly assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird, a tribute from the impoverished District 12.

But after Lucy Gray’s charm captivates the audience of Panem, Snow sees an opportunity to shift their fates. With everything he has worked for hanging in the balance, Snow unites with Lucy Gray to turn the odds in their favor. Battling his instincts for both good and evil, Snow sets out on a race against time to survive and reveal if he will ultimately become a songbird or a snake.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes arrives in theaters on November 17.

I can't help but feel like the studio wants to push for Harry Potter vibes.

There is a whole community of little people who are angry at Dinklage. If ever there was a prime opportunity to cast little people in a film. Snow White would be it. But nope. It's not Dinklage approved apparently

So I guess Dinklage is cancelled now for merely pointing out a harmful stereotype.

You've really gotta be careful what you say these days. Even if you think what you're saying is progressive, if it's not the current narrative then it's not okay to say. Do be careful everybody.

Oh and I suppose I should point out that I saw Peter Dinklage with the devil so I don't get tarred by the same brush. He was fornicating with Satan! I seen him!

@ObserverIO - he doesn't speak for all the little people, he isn't king of them lmao

@bobevanz - If Peter Dinklage was a black person in the 1940s pointing out all the harmful stereotypes of black people in movies, he would be cancelled, because all of a sudden there would be no more roles for black people at all.

It's hilarious really. The whole situation with him being cancelled for saying something progressive is really, really funny to me. It shows how dumb cancel culture really is.

Oh dear, that looks like a low rent comedy sketch except the punchline never came

I think the role enforces stereotypes of little people.

There. Now you can't be in the movie Peter 🤣
