Scott Pilgrim To Get Additional Shooting

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World director Edgar Wright chimes in on the always scary 're-shoots'

Principal photography wrapped a year ago - and Scott Pilgrm vs the World has even been shown to test audiences, with great results. Yet - director Edgar Wright is rounding up his cast and heading to Canada for some additional shooting. This is usually a worry - but with great reaction from test audiences, Wright assures us the re-shoots are nothing to fret about.

Devin Faraci from Chud.com contacted Wright and his response is below:

"To be honest - I'm excited about it," said Wright via Email. "We have material from Vol 6 that is impossible to resist and so even after a nearly a year of editing - it's going to be fun to put some icing on the cake. We are not even redoing one full scene, just some bits and bobs and new jokes and beats that I wrote with Bacall & O'Malley. Both Shaun & Hot Fuzz had two and three days respectively of additional shooting. One of those bits was the granny being kicked in the face. I think we can all agree that was a good pickup."

So from the sounds of it - with the graphic novel ending this summer (Volume 6 - the last book) - meaning the movie changes from the source material at some point - Wright found some of the content in the final chapter too good to leave out of the film.

I think that's awesome personally that he likes the material so much he wants to include some of that stuff in his film adaptation.

Don't get me wrong...I loved Kick-Ass and I plan on seeing Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (with a tagline like "an epic of epic epicness", who can resist?) but what's with all these comics getting picked up and turned into films before they've even had a substantial enough run to turn into a film script?

Saw the preview for this movie last night. I'm not familiar with the comic, but this movie looks like a LOT of fun. It's definitely on my "must see" list this summer.
