Though numerous set photos have leaked, fans anticipating the upcoming live-action Shazam! film are still awaiting a full-reveal of the costume.  The best look has come from a poster at the Las Vegas Licensing Show, that first showed up thanks to Zachary Levi's Instagram feed.

Right off the bat, the poster conveys the tone the film is going for- playing up the humorous concept of a teenage child suddenly becoming as powerful as Superman

Appearing on the  Film Riot Podcast, Sandberg revealed a lot of attention went into the costume, "Yeah, there were a few iterations. And you sort of have to keep changing stuff even after we started shooting because you realize things… You shoot the first scene and Zach [Levi] is like, ‘You know, I can’t move my hands properly with these gauntlets.

So we had to redesign that, or like the boots kept falling apart so it’s like, ‘Oh well, I guess we have to do something different there.’ It was sort of a constant process of updating and making it work better."

Sandberg went on to add that the lightning bolt on the Shazam! costume will indeed light up and crackle with electricity so there were a lot of camera and lighting tests that had to be completed to get the right look.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard.

Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child.

But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).

shouldn't mobility in the suit be tested before you start shooting?

@Tony93 - I imagine there's a big difference between testing a suit out and wearing/shooting in it for hours upon hours, day after day.

@Tony93 - Not always. Sometimes you can't or won't be able to until you see it in use. And they do costume tests for movies, it's just not always helpful. One costume that was horrible to work in and use was Peter Weller's Robocop suit.

In other words, "We saw the backlash from the padded costume, so we decided to scale that back a bit."

@L0RDbuckethead - I hope they really did reduce the padding. The real Levi starts miles below the surface of this costume.
