We have already heard from Michael Madsen that he will be reprising the role of bent cop Bob for the follow up to Sin City, and now director Robert Rodriguez has confirmed to MTV that two much bigger characters from the first movie are also returning. Mickey Rourke's bruiser with a heart Marv, and Rosario Dawson's tough Old Town prostitute Gail..
"[Rourke is] all excited to come back, but he's probably the first one," Rodriguez told MTV of returning players. "I saw Rosario [Dawson] too. I ran into her for something else, and she's pumped. They've always been excited about doing another one, so that will be fun."
Of course Marv met with a shocking end in the first
Sin City, but since this one will be a prequel, that takes care of that problem. We still await word on whether Clive Owen will reprise the role of Dwight McCarthy, the main character of
A Dame To Kill For. But should he decline, another actor could easily be cast while actually remaining more faithful to the story! Dwight undergoes facial reconstruction surgery between both of the comic adaptations anyway. Rodriguez has been promising that this movie would be going ahead for a few years, so some fans are still, understandably, a bit dubious about the whole thing now. But over the past few days we have definitely heard more about it than ever before so lets hope that's a good sign.
