I didn't mind his score for Homecoming. I still really liked Henry Jackmans little nugget of a theme for him in Civil War Really kind of wish he would have stuck around and did homecoming and this movie. His Kick ass scores are so good for Spider-Man it hurts.

I didn't mind the music for Homecoming, but it didn't really stand out to me. I have liked Giacchino's work in most of the films he's scored, but his best work has 100% been for Pixar movies.

I sometimes find his live action pieces are a little lacking in that ability to thrill and excite and bring out the full spectrum of emotions (which is only my opinion of course).

To be honest, I think the recent Spider-Man for PS4 has the best score since the Raimi trilogy. I'm hoping for more of that, but with the lack of a New York setting, I doubt we will.

@UltimateCarnage - yeah. Im still amazed at how this guy did some amazing work in the past yet here it was so forgettable. The only thing memorable was the theme and thats just a remix of the 60s theme.

@UltimateCarnage - Yeah but that reimagining of the spidey theme is pure 🔥 will give him points just for that!

Great news, i like his work a lot. Rogue One and Dr Strange come to mind immediately. And i actually loved hearing the classic Spider-theme before Homecoming.

@TheManWithoutFear - his Doctor Strange score is fantastic

Ok Rohan, you can’t juat write an article about Michael Giacchino, name drop 15 Disney movies he worked on on top of 13 other films and television shows he scored and not even mention LOST. A hopeful mention of LOST was half the reason I clicked on this article. The man worked on the show for 6 years and it will always be his best work.

@Ben4 - He does mention LOST.

Idk how he created such amazing scores for Lost, Incredibles, Star Trek, Apes, etc. but managed to compose something so generic for Spidey.

Sitting in the theatre knowing that Spider-Man was entering the MCU then hearing the classic theme over the Marvel Studios banner put a huge grin on my face.

It's sickening how much i love the Marvel Studios fanfare/banner before the films. I love it so much. It's both reassuring, because you're reminded of the stellar work these guys have been doing for decades, and exciting because you know you're about to get something brand new from the same guys and there is every chance that it's going to be amazing. I am the worst.

That Marvel Studios fanfare and banner has imprinted on me.

I hope they use the theme more throughout the movie.
his Homecoming score is good, but aside from the Spiderman theme itself (the one made for the movie, not the classic one) and Vulture's, it didn't stand out much.

the Vulture theme's still pretty killer thou

I would like to think we're in a musical slow-burn to get the right theme for MCU Spidey. As long as I can get to hear the logo opening, we're good.

Yay for Michael Giacchino! Been a fan since his MEDAL OF HONOR video game days, and even back then I knew he could follow in John Williams’ footsteps. I hope he gets to do another STAR WARS someday.

I LOVE Giacchino, his work on Lost, Star Trek, the Incredibles films, Dr Strange and Rogue One has been some of my favourite film score material ever.

And while Homecoming's score didn't have the flair or charisma of some of the other MCU films or the majestic nature of Danny Elfman's work on Raimi Spidey 1 & 2, I did enjoy it especially the song "Academic Decommittment" and the music during the credits sequence.

I do hope he applies more flair and something similar to the PS4 game as that sound was GORGEOUS!

There needs to be more mention of his work on Dr. Strange, terrific choices were made it’s one of the first things that stood out for me about the movie

I believe we all agree the Homecoming theme was good, but not great. Seen tons of you point out Marvel's Spider-Man's score is the best since Raimi's and I absolutely agree!

With thst said, I think what he did in Homecoming was nailing the tone and scope of the movie. Think of his work on the opening, and how well his score worked on the ASM #33 callback. If FFH goes for bigger scale and scope, I believe he can pull something similar to Paesano's work on the game; something intimate for Pete, something epic and awe-inspiring for Spidey.

But that's just me! Hoping for the best :)
