We know Jamie Foxx and Alfred Molina will return as Electro and Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man: No Way Home, but what about the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield versions of Peter Parker?
Less reliable sources have indicated that they'll appear in the movie (i.e. not the Hollywood trades), so their involvement remains a rumour for now. However, Garfield has finally addressed those claims head-on in an interview with Josh Horowitz on his Happy Sad Confused podcast.
Horowitz started asking about his possible Spider-Man return, but was quickly interrupted by the English actor.
"There isn't anything to ruin, bro! [Laughs] I had to quickly cut you off. There's nothing to ruin," Garfield exclaimed. "It's so crazy. Dude, it's f***ing hilarious to me. I do have this Twitter account and I see how often Spider-Man is trending and it's people freaking out about a thing. I wish I could be able to speak to everyone and just say, 'I recommend that you chill.'"
After talking about having to deny his involvement in Spider-Man: No Way Home and no one believing him, Garfield added: "I can't speak for anything else but myself. They might be doing something, but I ain't got a call."
Horowitz pushed the matter and asked for a definitive yes or no answer. "I feel like, haven't I just said that? I did not get a call," he reiterated. "I would've gotten a call by now, that's all I'm saying. I don't want to ruin anything. Maybe they're going to call me and say, 'Hey, people want this!' Maybe it's a market research thing..."
So, he didn't get a call...but what about an email? Check out Garfield's comments in full below:
