Some new hi-res stills from Spider-Man: No Way Home have surfaced on social media that show a key change to Doctor Octopus' four extra arms. Instead of the gold/green color scheme used in 2004's Spider-Man 2, these are red; does that confirm this is a Variant Doc Ock rather than the one Alfred Molina played on the big screen seventeen years ago?
That would be one way for Marvel Studios to reintroduce bad guys like Otto Octavius, Electro, and the Green Goblin with new looks that better fit the aesthetic of modern superhero films (or in the case of Max Dillon and Norman Osborn, actually give them vastly superior costumes).
We can't share the images here, but you can check them out on Twitter (via @backupleaks).
The shot of Spider-Man and MJ doesn't tell us much, but appears to have been lifted from that early scene in the film which picks up right where Spider-Man: Far From Home ended. Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange can also be seen hanging out outside the Sanctum Sanctorum.
However, it's that intriguing shot of an unmasked Spider-Man in his fellow Avenger's basement we need to take a closer look at. If the rumors are true, this could be where Strange is keeping the villains who have found their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe via the Multiverse.
Why is Peter interacting with them, though? We'll find out on December 17.
