Are You Ready For More Morbin' Time? MORBIUS Star Jared Leto Says "Never Say Never" To Living Vampire Return

Despite the fact that Morbius opened to overwhelmingly negative reviews and dismal box office figures, the movie has garnered quite a following online in recent weeks. Essentially the butt of many, many jokes, Sony Pictures' Marvel Comics adaptation even ended up being re-released in theaters, only to flop all over again.

"It's Morbin' Time!" has become something of a calling card for those claiming to want a sequel, but will Jared Leto play the Living Vampire again?

It's hard to imagine that being at the top of the Oscar-winner's priority list, and a Morbius 2 seems highly unlikely. Leto could show up elsewhere (especially if Sony is building to a Sinister Six movie), and during a recent interview with The Playlist, he was asked if he would be open to reprising the role. To that, the actor simply responded, "Well, as the old thing goes, never say never."

We're guessing it is never on this occasion.

In the same interview, Leto was asked about the Joker & Harley Quinn movie that was being developed by John Requa and Glenn Ficarra once upon a time. He didn't have much to say, but explained: "Well, you know, I didn’t really know too much about that script, to be honest, just heard they were writing it and that’s about it. They’re really inspiring."

Clearly, it was yet another DC Comics movie that didn't get too far beyond the writing stage. Like Gotham City Sirens and Suicide Squad 2, it's just another movie tied to David Ayer's 2016 disasterpiece that failed to become a reality. The franchise has since moved on with James Gunn at the helm, and The Suicide Squad has already spawned an HBO Max spinoff in Peacemaker.
