About three weeks ago, Spider-Man: No Way Home star Jamie Foxx was rushed to hospital after suffering an undisclosed medical emergency during production of his latest movie, Back in Action, which also stars Cameron Diaz.

At the time, Foxx's daughter sent out the following statement.

“We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, The Foxx family.”

This obviously suggested that the actor was well on the road to recovery, but it sounds like his condition may be more serious than we realized.

According to an update from TMZ, those closest to Foxx are now saying that he "needs all the prayers and well-wishes his fans can muster."

Foxx's family/reps still haven't disclosed any details of his condition, so we'll just have to hope for the best and keep Jamie and those closest to him in our thoughts.

The Masked Singer host Nick Cannon is set to step in to replace Foxx as guest host for season six of interactive music show, Beat Shazam.

Read he had to be revived at the scene. He has a long road ahead and hopefully he is ok. My uncle use to drive him around as a limo driver in California and said he was one of the koolest people he drove. And he had some stories.

3 weeks in the hospital means he had a chronic condition or a sudden emergency. Either way it's scary😳

Get well soon!

@regularmovieguy - It was a stroke. Really odd for a man of his age and health. Hope he recovers.

@AmazingFILMporg - Rumor I have seen the most is potentially a stroke. Lines up with the sudden nature of things and the slow recovery. Scary. Hope he pulls through. Some people are changed forever after even a minor stroke.

Well strokes are more than likely to happen to people that smoke and have high cholesterol. Seeing how Foxx was bulking up with eating alot of red meat. Also he is African American which is the leading cause of death.💁
