It's been a few weeks since Spider-Man 2 arrived in stores and we now have some never-before-seen concept art from the critically acclaimed video game sequel.
Shared by artists Daryl Mandryk and Dennis Chan (via GameFragger.com), we start with the former's alternate designs for Venom, Sandman, The Lizard, and the Symbiote army which is eventually unleashed on New York City.
Chan, however, has revealed keyframes from several key moments, including Peter Parker's near-death experience and Harry Osborn's transformation into Venom. We also see Mary Jane Watson as She-Venom - instead of Scream - and a spectacular piece depicting the Anti-Venom Spider-Man going toe-to-toe with his friend-turned-foe in a far bloodier final battle.
Also of note is what looks to be scrapped plans for a level set in The Daily Bugle which would have likely seen Peter and/or Miles Morales teaming up to save J. Jonah Jameson from an attack by the monstrous New Yorkers.
Many gamers have complained that the sequel felt rushed, so we wouldn't be surprised if this was one of many missions and side quests that weren't included. Despite major improvements across the board, Spider-Man 2 felt a little more sparse than its predecessor when it came to what players could get up to.
You can check out this new Spider-Man 2 concept art in the Tweets/Xs below.
"Spider-Men Peter Parker and Miles Morales face the ultimate test of strength inside and outside the mask as they fight to save the city, each other, and the ones they love," reads the game's synopsis, "from the monstrous Venom and the dangerous new symbiote threat."
"Explore an expansive Marvel's New York with faster web-swinging and the all-new Web Wings, quickly switching between Peter and Miles to experience different stories, epic new abilities and high-tech gear."
"Wield Peter's symbiote abilities and Miles' explosive bio-electric powers in battle against new and iconic Marvel Super Villains," it continues, "including an original take on a symbiote-infused Venom, the ruthless Kraven the Hunter, the volatile Lizard, and more from the Marvel Rogues' Gallery."
Spider-Man 2 is now available to buy worldwide.
