The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was a very busy movie which introduced a lot of different characters and elements as Sony Pictures continued building toward both a third and fourth movie along with a spinoff revolving around the Sinister Six.
Along the way, we also met an Oscorp employee named "Felicia" who was supposed to be Felicia Hardy, a.k.a. Black Cat. Now, actress Felicity Jones (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) has revealed that she was never actually told whether or not she would be given the opportunity to adopt that persona.
"There was never anything written down that that would definitely happen," she revealed. "It was more just…I like playing characters where there is a little bit extra to play with and it was just fun to play someone who has this other identity. I just loved the idea of that character, I just think it’s really fun."
As for whether she'd be open to playing Black Cat (remember that Sony is developing a standalone movie featuring the anti-hero), Jones added: "I’d love to play her again. She’s a great character."
Black Cat was supposed to star in a team-up movie with Silver Sable but plans changed and her future is now uncertain. Do you think Jones would still be a good fit for the role at this point?
