TASM2 is out! Did you catch any easter eggs? I did! Hit the jump to check it out!

After watching TASM2 at Thursday (Early screening), I wanted to watch it again, but where I can rewind, pause, go back, and watch it for the third time, so I pirated it (Yarrr!). Here's what I (and several sources) found out in the movie:

The Easy

1.) Look out, here comes the Spider-Man!

Where: Peter's ringtone in his phone is based from the original Spider-Man theme song. You can hear it several times in the movie.

2.) "Hey, that guy said the title of the movie!"
When Max Dillion was celebrating his birthday by grabbing a cake made by himself (but thought to be made by Spider-Man), he talked to Spider-Man (actually, he talked to nothing; air; the space; a hallucination. He's pretty crazy...) and told him, "You're amazing. Hey! That's what they should call you: The Amazing Spider-Man!"

3.) The Sinister Six Is Very Sixy

Where: It has been foreshadowed in this movie alot. Like, alot. You might even find things in the movie with a number six on them! The Gentleman, known in the movie as "Mr Fiers,"(I can confirm it is Mr. Fiers, because I watched it with subtitles.) is working with Harry to create them. "I want it small." Harry (and She) said.

The Hidden

1.) Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a spider can!
Where: When Harry asks peter to try and find Spider-Man, Harry gives us a line: "He can do whatever a spider can! Like self-heal!" That was a hard one to catch, I'll tell you... but it was a nice touch (not the sexual way) to add that there.

2.) AAAAWWWW YEEEEEAAAAAHHHH

Where: Just like the first movie, the DB can be seen anywhere, and everywhere. We also see a little interaction with J.J and Peter when he sent a new photo of Spider-Man and tried to persuade J.J. that Spider-Man isn;t actually a menace, but a person who is trying to save peope. J.J. replies with an e-mail titled "WRONG!!!" You can also see the Daily Bugle in billboards, radios, and the TV.

3.) Hipster Spider-Slayer Without The Flying Wheelchair
We see several of the Spider-Man villains... just not yet villains. One of them being Alistaire Smyth, or better known as The Spider-Slayer. To me, I know him as "the guy in the flying wheelchair" in the old Spider-Man TV shows.

4.) Down came the rain and washed the spider out!
Where: During the final battle at the chemical plant, when Electro is moving from external coil to another (just like that scene in The Sorcerer's Apprentice where they make sounds out of electricity), the coils make a tune to a song: Itsy Bitsy Spider.

Of course, Spider-Man quickly notices that tune too, and replies, "Ugh, I hate that song!"

5.) Web Hands

Where: When Gwen falls to her doom. Spider-Man tries to catch her with his webs. The web he shoots, in slow motion, looks like a hand, reaching for Gwen. This adds drama to this scene; Spidey's web is trying to catch Gwen.

The Blink-Or-You'll-Miss-It

1.) Rhino Undies

Where: During the chase scene at the beginning of the movie. Spider-Man catches up to Rhino and humiliates him by pulling his pants down.

2.) Lots of evil files about evil people

Where: When Harry accidentally drops the secret file his dad given to him and it lands on the high-tech table. It shows multiple files. If you have quick eyes, you might see several things:
  • Exoskeleton 232 (Chameleon?)
  • Dr Morbius File (Morbious, the Living Vampire)
  • Venom Storage (Venom)
  • Experiment OCT 32A (Dr. Octopus?)
  • Australia Project (Kraven?)

3.) The Clock strikes at 1:21.

Where: When [SPOILER] Gwen dies, falling to her death, the clock's hands go crazy because the cogs broke off. If you notice (and count from 5-20), the clock stops at 1:21. Gwen Stacy in the comics dies at issue #121, "The Night Gwen Stacy Died." She also wore the same outfit as Gwen in the comics the night she died.

---------------

So, what did you think of TASM2? I thought it was great. The love story in there wanted me to have a girlfriend (Sorry, if you are seeing this, honey)!  The animation was realistic as heck, and the death scene made my heart drop. 4/5 for me! The drama, the story (although it had some subplots that were left unsolved), and the pace was good.

BTW, if you guys have any more easter eggs for me, do NOT hesistate to PM/comment to me.

@TheBlackNerd totally agree...after reading a few bad reviews here i was worried..Saw in XD-3D about 3 hours ago..i was pretty happy. A few issues, but all in all i liked it. The ending was good..and although garfield is a bit old for the role, he really has some acting chops... 4/5 for me too

Unfortunately, the film actually takes that Venom easter egg away. The "Venom Storage" is a part of the plot and is a reference not to the symbiote black costume, but to the venom extracted from a super-spider.
However, we do get slight nods to Venom, in Spidey's suit being covered in black goo at one point and there being space suits around Oscorp.
Also, I'm surprised that no-one has yet pointed out the DareDevil/TMNT reference, with the sequence involving the truck full of vials of ooze from OsCorp. Of course, if this was a literal DD reference, then that would make Peter Parker a lot older than Matt Murdock.

I liked the movie... a lot. I don't get the hate for it. People bitched about the Rhino and Goblin suits, but let's be real. If they actually dressed Paul G. Dane Dehan up in a Rhino & Goblin suit, they would look ridiculous. I think that by the next movie, their costumes are going to change again just like they did with Spider-man's. Also the Gwen Stacey clock scene broke my heart. I knew it was coming, but it was still heartbreaking for me.

@DukeAcured: Is it? I never heard them say that the "venom" meant the spider's venom. I mean, it sounds more plausible, though...

Although, they also never said it was a symbiote, so the "Venom" in the file could be anything...
