Unused SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Concept Art Takes Influence From SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN

Marvel Studios concept artist Ryan Meinerding‏ has shared an unused costume design for Peter Parker's Spidey outfit in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and it's arguably better than the one we ended up with...

The costume Peter Parker (Tom Holland) debuted in Captain America: Civil War that we later saw in Spider-Man: Homecoming stuck to the character's classic design for the most part, with just a few minor upgrades here and there - but it seems Marvel and Sony were toying with the idea of a very different color-scheme at one point.

Ryan Meinerding shared the concept art below to his Twitter account, and as you can see, it's heavily influenced by the black and red outfit worn by Dan Slott and Ryan Stegman's divisive Superior Spider-Man.

Tell us, would you have preferred to see something like this that stood out from the previous depictions of the Wall-Crawler on the big screen, or are you glad they went with the more recognizable Spidey design? Sound off below.

Are you kidding me?!?! That woulda been awesome

@Lem1 - They should use that for Miles Morales instead.

Good that they didn't use this yet. They should save for upcoming movies, like they did with Cap's super soldier uniform.

That's one Bad-ass suit. They should introduce different suits in the sequels. Homecoming suit was enough for the first film.

@Coolkid - I would rather they keep this concept art and use it for Miles Morales.

I wouldn't want Spiderman having so many different suits so early. Maybe a new suit for college?

@SonOfAGif - I would rather Miles use, you know, his actual costume? And its iconic design?

Hello???

@SonOfAGif - No miles morales. But they can introduce each new suit in each film and call it an upgrade. Even I don't multiple suits in one movie...!!!

am i the only one that thinks the iron spider suit looks really bad? they should have gone with this for infinity war and then in a perfect world have him get the symbiote suit that makes it all black even tho i know thats separate

@Ha1frican - No you0're not. I honestly think it looks over complicated and overstuffed. In fact, this concept art right here, maybe with a bit of gold thrown in for good measure, would have been much preferrable to what we ended uop getting as his soon to be worn "Spidey Avengers" costume.

@Ha1frican - i agree, when I first saw it I was thinking wow I hope they don't actually end up using this suit, then I figured it was meant to be turned down as something we'll never actually see, now that it's actually going to be his new suit for IW I wish they went full Iron Spider or nothing

It's clean, I like it. I'm not a big fan of the current Stark suit with the stripes on the limbs. Suit with just two colors works best.

@Nightmare - I kinda like it. It's small enough so they're not distracting, and helps distance it from the other suits. We've seen two versions of the classic spidey suit, the upgrades are a nice touch.
