David Ayer has shared some more concept art from his unreleased (but for now long?) director's cut of 2016's Suicide Squad, and this time we get a glimpse of the filmmaker's original vision for Task Force X's climactic battle against the Enchantress (Cara Delevingne).
In the theatrical version, the possessed June Mooon attempts to subdue the team by giving them visions of the lives they could have had if things worked out differently, and it sounds like this sequence was initially going to be more complex and surreal.
Responding to someone who complained about his previous Joker image, Ayer explained that the skulls and purple mist surrounding Jared Leto's take on the iconic Batman villain was a result of Enchantress "altering the reality around her and changing the environment."
Ayer recently revealed that he has spoken to James Gunn about potentially releasing the "Ayer Cut" of Suicide Squad down the line, so we may eventually get to see what the director originally had in store for these characters.
