I transcribed the audio.
I have made a concerted effort to focus purely on the source material, which is the comic. I personally believe to focus too much on other people's interpretation of the source material is going to detract from my performance and my interpretation. It's a wonderful opportunity and there is so much material there. And there is such a wealth of...way he is represented across all the comics. That it's a deep well to choose from.

Daily, I'm learning more. Because as I'm experiencing it, as I'm performing...I'm...As you say, if you were to look at George Reeves, and Christopher Reeves and all that. I'm doing bits myself and therefore learning more about the character. Because hopefully if I do my job right, I'll be remembered and maybe fifteen years in the future someone will be saying Henry Cavill when the next chap is playing Superman.

The photos and video are from the day after the green screen shoot with the helicopters. There are more photos of Henry, but they are a bunch of photos from the same two angles. I decided to only include the best image. In the video it starts with the green screen rescue shoot that you've seen, but then goes into the shot of the burning building that you haven't seen. This is most likely the hallway fire that was described in the official memo that I posted the other day.

Man Of Steel, starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Julia Ormond, Russell Crowe, Laurence Fishburne with Christopher Meloni and Harry Lennix, the reboot is slated for theaters June 14th, 2013!

Wow! My respect for this guy's at a whole nutha' level.
Source material, source material , source material...such a beautiful term!
Every mutha phuggin' actor hired to play a CB character needs to go to this guy's seminar.
Keep it up Henry ,and you WILL be remembered as the greatest actor to ever play the role!

headlopper - 10/29/2011, 10:38 PM
There's a very good reason why Superman and every other CB hero has survived to this day: WE LIKE THEM THE WAY THEY ARE! Generation after generation feels the same which is why they're still popular! Helllooo!
Stick with the source material religiously and logic alone guarantees you WILL slay the role!
Simple common sense.
This actor's smart.

love the way the new superman movie is shaping up,i never liked the character sort of how i felt about captain America, didn't like him either but the new captain America movie changed my mind and the new direction the superman movie is taking has also changed my mind, now im interested in this movie.

love the suits, specially the superman suit, great design and thank god finally DC and WB had enough sense to take off his underwear from the costume, really its demeaning considering he is hailed as the greatest superhero.really looking forward to this.

Right on, Henry! (We're on a first-name basis). If you need inspiration to influence your acting and help you make choices, the source material is definitely the way to go. Do you really need to look at Chris Reeves or Brandon Routh when you've got 70 years of Superman material to draw on already?

Henry Cavill sure knows how to kiss a comic book audience's ass better than Andrew Garfield.:)

Ichaos - 10/30/2011, 2:07 AM
@batmanbruce yes its demeaning how superheroes have under wear over their long underwear. :/. Sorry to break the news but most Superheroes wear some sort of spandex or long underwear. Also idiots call it underwear, they are trunks and go back to strong man circus performers where pretty much the vast majority of costumes pull their inspiration from. Keep going with that logic and Superheroes will all just be in plain clothes.

Personally I think he'll do a great job, and the suit does stink!!!

i am glad they has updated the costume. it was needed for a new film. Glad the actor has muscle instead of fake muscles that where put in Rouths suit.

I've been a superman fan since The Donnor days but then they stop for a while and batman ruled the 90's. I like Routh's version but at the end I was unfortunately let down. Once this comes out I will be like a kid again because I know Man of Steel will be at the top of the list for cbm's again. Now all we need is an epic epic score for the film!

rbfn04 - 10/30/2011, 7:59 AM
I love how people are like "I've never been a Superman fan. But now I'll watch this movie cause it looks like it won't have much to do with the character... Also the new suit is cool, lol"...

Face it guys, that new suit is poorly designed.

@rbfn04 You are going around all the boards trashing this movie without having seen the thing yet. Im looking forward to you feeling stupid in these comments section and saying how great the film is etc... I remember people here did that with First class and look what happen. The teaser trailer has not even hit yet...

rbfn04 - 10/30/2011, 8:16 AM
@catman I don't think you read all my comments. I said plenty of nice thing about this movie. I defended the cast. I just don't trust the direction it is going.

And I won't feel stupid if I end up digging it, I even said, if I end up liking it I'll own up to it and say I was wrong.

But, one thing I won't change my mind on, that suit is poorly designed. Too busy with all the lines running around, bracelets are ugly as sin and it need something braking the blue long johns look.
AC1
AC1 - 10/30/2011, 8:19 AM
The new suit isnt awful, the top half is the best bit, but... I cant believe I'm saying this... if they had to redesign, they should have made it more like the DCnU version, minus the high neck collar.

@ACira yeah, lose the turtle neck, the weird shape in the sleeves, the armour look and all those lines/s shield shape all around and I agree.

Love the MoS's S shield, tho... Would lovea t-shirt with that logo.

Neek2086 - 10/30/2011, 8:35 AM
@rbfn04 Do u notice that u r the only one crying about the suit. I don't know if it's a personal issue or not but it's getting old. I mean when they first showed the suit ok maybe then it was necessary to cry about it but that was months ago... Face it they're not gonna change so get over it.
rbfn04
rbfn04 - 10/30/2011, 8:39 AM
@neek when it comes up, I'll talk about it. ;). SO, if I'm the only one not happy I should shut up? Sorry, didn't know I wasn't allowed to give my opinion.

Personal? Why would it be personal? But, it gets to me that they were so close to make a good redesign and missed the mark making it too busy.
valeriesghost
valeriesghost - 10/30/2011, 8:59 AM
I like the suit, but it took me a while to get there, (unlike Spideys new diggs, which i still think is shite) I can see how others aren't all that keen on it.@rbfn04

Its the way he looks in the suit that makes it good. That suit on someone else wouldn't work. Does that make sense?
