To celebrate the upcoming broadcast of My Adventures With Superman's season 2 premiere, Adult Swim and Toonami have released a new clip from the first episode, which sees Superman face off against Amanda Waller, Deathstroke, Atomic Skull, and some Task Force X foot soldiers.

In particular, the video shows the terrible schemes Waller is willing to enact in order to protect the planet from Superman and other possible Kryptonian invaders.

While Waller's actions are definitely inexcusable, they might ultimately prove to be necessary as the season 1 finale hints that SPOILER: [General Zod] will soon return in season 2 to attack the Earth.

Are you excited for season 2 of My Adventures with Superman? Let us know in the comment section below.

Season 2 will be the big test for the show, as it was initially greenlit with a two-season order. Although a second season was always planned, a third season is probably not in the cards if the show doesn't succeed in the ratings department.

The 10-episode season 2 of My Adventures with Superman will have a double-episode premiere,May 25th at midnight  ET/PT- with the latest episode set to stream the next day on Max.

ABOUT MY ADVENTURES WITH SUPERMAN
Synopsis: "In the latest season, the three best friends face a host of new threats. Powerful foes will emerge from Clark’s alien past, Amanda Waller will take aim at Superman, Lois will grapple with the future, and Jimmy Olsen will spend an unbelievable amount of money. Krypton is coming for our young heroes, and its arrival will test their strength, loyalty, and love like never before."

My Adventures with Superman was created and developed by Jake Wyatt (Steven Universe, 2013 DuckTales) for Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. Following the release of new episodes on Adult Swim, the latest episodes are then uploaded to the Max streaming service.

The show features Jack Quaid as Clark Kent/Kal-el aka Superman, Alice Lee as Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane, and Ishmel Sahid as Jimmy Olsen.

Actors appearing in recurring roles include Darrell Brown as Perry White, Kari Wahlgren as Martha Kent, Reid Scott as Jonathan Kent, Chris Parnell as Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke, Debra Wilson as Amanda Waller, Max Mittelman as Alexander "Alex" Luthor, and Joel de la Fuente as General Sam Lane.

The series is animated by Korea-based Studio Mir, who previously produced The Boondocks, The Legend of Korra, and Netflix's Voltron: Legendary Defender.

I like the way Mark did the “Spoiler” tag. It’s like the old days when you had to highlight the empty space.

@WruceBayne - was gonna say the same thing. I dig it. It even works in dark mode

Good clip. I'll take a wild guess that their version of Atomic Skull also got his powers thanks to the Kryptonian technology they got in their hands.

Waller is colder than the iceberg that sunk the Titanic as always. Gonna be hard to imagine for a moment that the DCU take will attempt to make her slightly likeable, yet alone redeemable, if that is what Gunn wants to do with her in her TV show.

@NinnesMBC - the Waller show is something we haven't heard anything about, so I wonder what the state of that is

Damn. Who'd have thought the My Adventures With Superman costume would end up being better than the James Gunn one just by virtue of not having a [frick]ing collar?

I can't stand the look of this Asian inspired type of animation.

Did anyone watch season 1?

@TheNewYorker - I did. It's a cool show but I feel the animators are not going all-out with these fight scenes the way that they've done with other shows like Voltron: Legendary Defender and The Legend of Korra.

@TheNewYorker @NinnesMBC - yeah, the animation could've been better like those other shows. But like those other shows, this is a ton of fun too and does some interesting stuff with lore and characters

OT.

Gunn’s composer better do his research when it comes to Superman’s theme.

Even Lois and Clark had an epic theme.

@HulkisHoly - The one for Superman & Lois as well. IMO it's the new benchmark.
