After years of development, the much anticipated animated series My Adventures with Superman is finally about to see the light of day. The show will premiere on Thursday, July 6th, on Adult Swim and will be available for streaming on HBO Max starting July 7th.
This exciting new version of Superman's adventures stars Jack Quaid (best known for his role in The Boys) as Clark Kent/Superman, Alice Lee (from Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist) as Lois Lane, and Ishmael Sahid (from Cousins for Life) as Jimmy Olsen.
Adult Swim has released a sneak peek at the title sequence for the upcoming series (via Toonado), which has received the official endorsement of Jack Quaid himself. Quaid took to social media to express his excitement for the series and the snippet, saying, "Our title sequence didn’t need to go this hard but I’m so glad it does."
The theme song for the show is performed by a punk rock band called Kyle Troop & The Heretics, and it certainly has potential to become an iconic classic within the long history of the Superman franchise. Although the sneak peek doesn't include any vocals, it's unclear whether the full title sequence will feature lyrics, as the band's previous work isn't purely instrumental.
You can watch the sneak peek at the title sequence below, courtesy of Quaid's quote-tweet. Let us know what you think of the theme song in the comments!
In this serialized coming-of-age story, we follow Clark as he builds his secret Superman identity and embraces his role as the hero of Metropolis - and perhaps the world. Lois, now growing into a star investigative journalist, takes aspiring photographer Jimmy Olsen under her wing. All the while, Clark and Lois are falling in love, sharing adventures, taking down bad guys, stumbling over secrets, and discovering what it means to be Superman and Lois Lane.
My Adventures with Superman premieres on Adult Swim on July 6th, 2023.
