Following the news Superman: Legacy has tapped David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan to play the DCU's Man of Steel and Lois Lane, fans are eager to learn who will round out the rest of the reboot's cast.
According to the r/DCEULeaks page, their verified sources have revealed that Lex Luthor screen tests will begin taking place in the coming weeks. It sounds like James Gunn may be zeroing in on his Jimmy Olsen, while a Perry White casting call suggests DC Studios is looking for Black actors over 50 to play Perry White.
It's an interesting decision, particularly as it was Zack Snyder's Man of Steel which cast Laurence Fishburne as The Daily Planet's Editor-in-Chief.
It's also said Eve Teschmacher and a Middle Eastern dictator codenamed "Broukhim" are among the other roles currently being cast, so it looks like we've got an exciting few months ahead when it comes to Superman: Legacy news.
In other news, we're sure you remember Warner Bros. Discovery David Zaslav's decision to pull the plug on HBO Max's Wonder Twins. The movie was going to star KJ Apa and Isabel May as shape-shifters Zan and Jayna, but ended up being scrapped as part of cost-cutting measures and as a result of the DCU reboot.
Well, according to these same moderators, DC Studios is now developing a new Wonder Twins project that's unrelated to those streaming plans.
With that in mind, we don't anticipate seeing Apa or May reprise the roles they never got to play, and like The Rogues, this is expected to be part of the eventual "Chapter 2" slate. Only time will tell whether this is a movie, TV show, animated series, or video game.
It's an exciting and intriguing time to be a DC fan, though we still have a long way to go before this new shared world replaces the DCEU (which will release Blue Beetle and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom later in 2023).
Stay tuned for updates.
