Hollywood is apparently out of new ideas, as it seems every classic movie is getting a reboot these days like
Conan,
Total Recall,
Starship Troopers, and now even the classic Alex Proyas'
The Crow is getting one. The original movie, which was the last time we saw Brandon Lee on the big screen, was based on the 1989 comic book of the same name by James O'Barr. And the reboot apparently will be a 'reinvention' of that according to producer Edward R. Pressman:
"The original 1994 Crow film holds a special place in my heart. The current film is a 'reinvention' of James O'Barr's graphic novel for the 21st Century. We're thrilled to have teamed with director Javier Gutierrez and screenwriter Jesse Wigutow on this story, which remains true to the core of Eric Draven's plight for revenge," he said. "Giving too much away wouldn't be any fun. 'Disorder, chaos, anarchy -- now that's fun!'
The guy apparently has passion on the project and might do the best he can to deliver a good job, but still, it is a reboot, which are never welcome by fans and doesn't overcomes the original neither, but let's wait and see how that turns out.
The Crow release date has yet to be revealed, but it has Javier Gutierrez attached as the director and Jesse Wigutow as the screenwriter. Stay tuned on CBM for more news on the movie.
