IRIS - 22-28 - African-American - As smart as she is beautiful, Iris is in grad school studying psychology. She's also Barry's mile a minute, fast-talking, quick-witted best friend. Her father, Detective West, took in Barry when his mother was murdered, and his father was wrongly accused and imprisoned for her murder. I'm really confused with the fact that I don't mind Iris West being black that much. I'm not saying I want her to be but it's not that big of a problem to me. I also kinda like the relationship that they're going for between her and Flash. This actress seems fine, nothing made me love her but i don't have any complaiint. I would be okay if she was Iris West.

I don't mind her being black, besides Wally could be mixeraced for all we know, either way decent audition but need to see more. Personally speaking though, if they go with a black Iris I like Nicole Beharie for it, but doubt she'd be able to do it cos of Sleepy Hollow.

Not necessarily...treading very lightly so as to not offend anyone she is not exactly the darkest of black. Wally would be her nephew right? So if one parent was her colour & the other was pasty white with strong ginger hair it would be possible though extremely unlikely (red hair is a recessive trait & the darker hair colours are far more dominant). Not impossible to still have a ginger Wally but certainly unlikely. His mother would have to be Scotish :P

as for the story i trust the tweaks they make will be for the better. his origin is a little bland as green arrow's is so even though it wont "true" to the comics itll still be a good show if they approach each episode arrow does. pedal to the metal you have a whole universe of characters and stories to use. dont hold back

shes's definitely better in the "buddy buddy, friendzoned" scene than in the more dramatic one. don't think she'll get the part, but i like the vibe they're going for with her (assuming this was from the script)

IN ALL seriousness, they should cast some well-known actors (not from The CW). They've already cast Gustin which makes them look like they're trying to create the new "teen sensation" superhero... They should get some big names too.
