THE FLASH Star Sasha Calle Dodges Question About Working With Ezra Miller; Praises BATGIRL's Leslie Grace

The Flash star Sasha Calle was recently asked about working with Ezra Miller but, for whatever reason, decided to dodge the question. She's also elaborated on her friendship with Batgirl's Leslie Grace.

Over the past week or so, The Flash has dominated headlines after underperforming at the box office. Things don't look good for the latest DCEU movie heading into its second weekend, but both Michael Keaton and Sasha Calle definitely deserve to be praised for their work.

Keaton's return as Batman may not have been a box office draw, but the actor did a phenomenal job as the older Bruce Wayne. Calle, meanwhile, went from being a relative unknown to delivering a Supergirl who fans are now desperate to see take centre stage in DC Studios' Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow

The New York Times recently spoke to Calle and specifically asked about her experience working with Ezra Miller. It wasn't a loaded question, but it was nonetheless one that Calle did her best to avoid answering.

"I spent a lot of time with my stunt team from the moment I arrived to the moment I left," the actress responded. "And it was incredible being with my stunt team. I can’t not talk about them. I swear to you, they were my family through and through."

That's quite a contrast to the praise heaped on Miller by The Flash's director and producer in an apparent effort to help moviegoers overlook the cotroversies.

In the same interview, Calle shared high praise for the star of Warner Bros. Discovery's cancelled Batgirl movie, Leslie Grace. "This whole ride I’ve been really blessed to be very close to Leslie Grace, who was Batgirl from DC, and Anthony Ramos, who is in the new 'Transformers' movie."

"They actually both did 'In the Heights” together, and I was not in that movie, but I am literally adopted into that little circle...this was a much harder experience for [Leslie] through everything that happened, she has been there for me a lot. I’m fortunate enough that I get to experience her as a friend."

"Obviously, it’s been a hard transition [since 'Batgirl' was cancelled]," Calle added. "There’s a lot of stuff that has happened within the world, and we’ve just really been there for each other."

As for her future as Supergirl, it appears she remains in the dark about whether her take on Kara Zor-El will be brought into the new DCU. "I don’t know. I hope to be playing her. I love her so much. [Muschietti doesn’t] know. Only the new bosses know."

These insights from Calle are definitely interesting and with so much uncertainty surrounding her future as Supergirl, she's lucky to have Grace there for support. Whatever happens, The Flash has put her on the map and we're sure plenty of big acting roles are now on the horizon.

The Flash is currently playing in theaters.

Considering how badly Black Adam, Shazam 2 and the Flasher have done, surely they can at least release Batgirl now? Just let us see how it was?

@SimplyAz - I'd rather see Fraser in Reeves' Bat-Universe playing Arnold Wesker. A man who can only manifest his pent-up anger through a ventriloquist's dummy. A man who beats someone to death.

@SimplyAz - considering that they said The Flash was the best movie ever made and you think it’s bad, think about how bad Batgirl is going to be since they didn’t even want to release it.

@Repian -

Definitely would love to see more of Brendan and that would be good casting

@philinterrupted -

Have they got anything to lose by not releasing it?

Maybe one day there'll be a documentary or something about the movie

I watched Doomed: The Untold Story of Roger Corman's The Fantastic Four which was about the 1994 Fantastic Four

@SimplyAz - if Batgirl is anything like Corman’s F4 movie, no thanks.
I actually think that no matter how bad it is, the same people who are shitting on The Flash will praise Batgirl just to be contrarian.

Not answering is an answer in itself. She could have gone with a simple "it was a nice experience", but just ignored it.

Anyone really know how much the reimbursement would be?
For a 90Mil movie it could only be like...max 40 mil, right?

This might not be relevant to CBM just yet but WB is selling off Music and Movie licenses out of their archive, what this essentially starts is the precedent of WB completely selling off their library.
Many people have been calling Zaslav's plan to gut WB for parts in the past year and this is the first solid piece of evidence that he's going that way.

They'll start with Archive material but I doubt they'll stop at selling franchises they currently own.
WB is being gutted for parts until only the IP of WB exists and is also sold off to the highest bidder.

Some might say this could have been Zaslav's plan all along, gut WB and sell it in parts for the most profit
