So, I saw The Lone Ranger yesterday and I loved it. It is really starting to aggravate me that all the critics are saying that it is garbage, racist, and downright stupid. It really was a good movie for anyone out there who is considering. I personally believe it is suffering from the same treatment of Man of Steel. When a film is released in a certain genre, in this case superhero/vigilante, that doesn't necessarily fit in with all the others of that genre, it is hated. The way I looked at Man of Steel was that most other superhero movies today are very colorful and have lots of kid-friendly plots and action, but Man of Steel took a darker more adult-oriented approach which obviously doesn't sit well with critics. The Lone Ranger is the same issue but with a Western genre. Honestly, I would almost consider The Lone Ranger a superhero movie, I felt the same feelings in the Lone Ranger that I did seeing The Dark Knight Rises and Man of Steel. Anyways, The Lone Ranger is a little bit long and does get lengthy at some points, but it kept me entertained because Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer are hilarious together. I personally would give this film an 8 out of 10. It provides a neat story that is TOTALLY UNIQUE in today's modern films and takes a twist on a superhero movie. I also love the historical accuracy in the film, I won't give any spoilers away, but it definitely does not sugar coat the wild west. So, if you are considering seeing The Lone Ranger, go see it. I guarantee that if you thoroughly enjoy a story about a vigilante/superhero and don't mind a little "out-of-the-normity", then you will love this movie.
