Thor: Ragnarok has opened in ten overseas markets, it rolling out in the UK on Tuesday and the likes of France and Korea yesterday. Now, the threequel's estimated haul for the two days is $12.8 million. It's still very early days for the movie but the threequel is performing ahead of Doctor Strange and along the same lines as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. It's also breaking a number of box office records!
For starters, Thor: Ragnarok had the biggest October opening day of all-time in Korea and the same was the case in Taiwan and Indonesia too. The highest markest for the Taika Waititi helmed release are the United Kingdom ($4.8M), Korea ($2.3M), France ($1.9M), Taiwan ($1.2M) and Indonesia ($900K).
There's more good news for the movie, though, as it's also been certified "Fresh" on Rotten Tomatoes with an incredible score of 98%. That makes it one of the best comic book adaptations of all-time and the highest so far in 2017. This too bodes well for its box office performance and good word of mouth should ensure that it's a hit both overseas and domestically. Are you excited to see Thor: Ragnarok?
