Deadline recently broke the news that Tessa Thompson (Creed, Selma, Annihilation) had joined the cast of Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok as a new love interest for the God of Thunder. Her role was described as "a kind of superhero", leading to speculation that she might be playing Valkyrie.
Well, according to Latino Review, that'd be spot on.
The site's sources claim Thompson will indeed portray Brunnhilde, who takes up the mantle of Valkyrie to lead the "honorable dead" into battle against Hela's forces.
Just a rumor for now, or course, but we all pretty much figured Thompson would be playing this character so it's probably on the level.
Thor: Ragnarok is being directed by Taika Waititi and also stars Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Jamie Alexander, and Mark Ruffalo. The movie is set to hit theaters on November 3rd, 2017.
