Although Marvel artist
Constantine Sekeris can take credit for the final design of Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie in
Thor: Ragnarok, Marvel character designer and concept artist Ryan Meinerding was actually given the chance to take a first stab at the character.
Taking to Instagram, Meinerding has shared what his original vision of Valkyrie would have looked like.
As you can see, it's quite a bit different than the version we saw on the big screen, but as Meinerding points out, director Taika Waititi did decide to keep the original idea of the white face paint. Alongside his post, Meinerding commented on Tessa Thompson's performance:
"Tessa Thompson is incredible in the movie. She does a fantastic job with the character."
Meinerding wasn't the only one to share his vision for Valkyrie in
Thor: Ragnarok, as fellow concept artist Andy Park also
recently shared what he had originally envisioned for the character.
