THOR's Chris Hemsworth To Host 'Saturday Night Live' Next Month
While in the past he's proven his comedic chops alongside more typical 'funny men' like Robert Downey Jr (The Avengers) and Tom Hiddleston (Thor: The Dark World), Chris Hemsworth will now take centre stage to host NBC's Saturday Night Live. Read on for details...
It seems that the 'The God of Thunder' himself, Chris Hemsworth (Thor), will be stepping up to host NBC's long-running comedy show, Saturday Night Live. Now in it's 40th year, the late night sketch-comedy show has, in the past, featured a whole host of Hemsworth's fellow Avengers - including the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson and Jeremy Renner. Iron Man's Robert Downey Jr. even featured as a main cast member for a season, back in 1985.
Deadline are reporting that Hemsworth will make his SNL debut on March 7th, alongside musical guests, the Zach Brown Band. It's interesting to see Hemsworth expanding his A-List presence, having struggled, so far, to get much success with his non-MCU projects. His most recent flick, Blackhat, bombed at the box office earlier this year. However, you only have to look at the likes of Rush to see that this an actor with a lot of potential - but does he have what it takes comedically?
Many people believe that SNL is no longer as funny as it used to be. Would Hemsworth's hosting gig convince you to tune in? At the very least, we may get to see another Avengers-related parody, like the one Jeremy Renner did a few years back. Let us know your thoughts below!
